Unbelievable Ice!

The weather turned so very cold
Icicles formed on everything
I know that many folks’
Were wishing that it was spring.

I got the warmest clothes I have
Frozen even were the sounds
Carefully stepped outside the house
’Cause thick ice covered the ground

The camera came with me, of course
Not a critter stirred, not even mice
So cold my face turned numb
With all the unbelievable ice!

One morning I stumbled to my feet and found
that everything in the Yukon area was covered with ice.

Cool quotes

I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine;
he gets better with age.
The next day, she locked me in the cellar.

Words you don’t hear anymore

You boys stay close by, the car may not start
and I will need you to help to push it off.

Next Thursday there will be try-outs for the choir.
They need all the help they can get.

Red Dirt Poetry by John

Cool Waters

Everyone grab your coat and cap
Let's go to the lake to end the day
We can count those many ducks
Who have chosen this time to play

For no day can really be complete
Without beauty of the natural kind
Like the feel of natural cool waters
Bringing inner peace to your mind

The wind blew ice into town
It formed on all it passed

Wise Words by a man named Don

1. It seems those who choose to live at Spanish Cove do so for similar reasons.

2. Many of our residents come from small towns such as Cloud Chief, Greenfield, Wanette or Gotebo.

3. Others come from much larger places including the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and even out of state.

4. Regardless of from where they came, a majority of our residents value a small-town experience without losing access to metropolitan area services.

5. They want quality retirement living care, but also a place where being replanted comes easier; where friendships naturally happen; and, where their past and future is valued.

Campground Squirrel

This squirrel came visiting one day
As the wind blew through the trees
Scurrying down from up a tree
Just as friendly as you please.

We fed this little fellow some nuts
He gave our hearts a whirl
He was just the most adorable
And friendly campground squirrel.

A Simple Redneck Poem

Dandelions

Bubba always loves the beauty of natural ice
But he usually ends up falling once or twice.
